Introduction
Catholic Fu Jen University established the first National Institute of textiles and clothing in 1990. Its creation is based on the solid foundation and integrity of the Department of textiles and clothing for twenty years. The four year university department, established in 1970, consists of three complete and interconnected groups:
(1) fabric design (2) fashion design (3) apparel apparel marketing established two years of fashion design and management department in 1997, extending the scope to (1) jewelry design and (2) retail business. Based on this broad foundation, Fu Jen University's Institute of textiles and clothing has grown more and more diversified and integrated, thus becoming the best pipeline and learning field for domestic popular industry.

In order to meet the development trend of textile and garment industry and Commerce in the fields of industry, commerce and consumer, the Institute of textiles and clothing has set up two professional groups, namely: (1) the textile clothing design and culture research group, and (2) the research group of textiles clothing management and consumption, in order to cultivate creative and leading professionals in the current textile industry in Taiwan.
